Happy Monday to you all,
Not too much to report this week. Busy
week with the group from Kiribati here. They left Sunday afternoon and
another group from Vanauta will be here late tonight. Then we will have
a break for a few weeks. Brother Chen, a young worker from
the temple, invited us to go to dinner with him on Thursday night. He
also invited Sister Johns and Rou, a couple of service missionaries that
serve at the temple, too. It was fun to go with them and learn more
about them. We told them we'd go again and it would be our treat. On
Friday night we went with the senior couples group to a Korean barbecue. In the middle of each table there were these gas cookers.
You went through a buffet and picked what kinds of meat you wanted and
then you went back and cooked the meat. It was delicious. They also
had other things you could get. It was a blast. All of the senior
couples are so kind and fun. It's good to get to know them and do
things with them. Since we're here by ourselves, we're glad to have
them. Drew, we had the opportunity to get to know Sister Campbell, a
good friend of Greta's, before she left this week. We took a picture of
the two of us for Cami. Our Sunday school teacher was
amazing. She was such a good teacher, so knowledgeable about the
scriptures. She serves in the temple and is a previous temple matron
and assistant matron like three times. She had a way to lead a great
discussion. Even after studying Come Follow Me for the week, I learned
so much more. It's been pretty rainy the last few days. We
did venture out Saturday and today to run a few errands and Sunday we
got a walk in at the Sea Wall. We've gotten into a good routine at the temple. Lynn
is pretty busy with his recorder's job. I am so enjoying serving with
the local sisters. They can be quite feisty, but they are also kind and
humble and so full of the spirit of the gospel. I am learning so much
from them. I know there are some hard things going on at
home. It's hard to be away and not be able to do anything to help, but
our prayers and faith are strong in their behalf. We love you all and
hope for the best for you all. Love, Lynn and Kay The one picture is some girls going on a field trip to the parliament building. I thought their school uniforms were so cute. | ||
